The Blood of Jesus | Hebrews 9:11-28
Pastor Anton Brown - 4/27/2025
Sermon Outline:
Big Idea: Jesus’ blood secured our redemption, fully and forever.
- Through His blood, we are redeemed to serve the living God (vv. 11–14).
- His blood sealed our place in a better covenant (vv. 15–22).
- One sacrifice for all time—He will come again (vv. 23–28).
Bible Fellowship Group Study Questions:
- What does Hebrews 9:11–14 teach about the difference between Christ’s sacrifice and the sacrifices made under the Old Covenant?
- How does the concept of covenant and inheritance, explained in Hebrews 9:15–22, help us understand the security we have in Christ?
- In Hebrews 9:23–28, what truths are revealed about Christ’s once-for-all sacrifice and His future return, and how do these truths complete the message of redemption?
- Since Christ has purified our consciences from dead works to serve the living God, where in your life do you still feel drawn to self-reliant striving instead of Spirit-empowered service?
- How does the knowledge that your place in God’s New Covenant is sealed by Christ’s blood help you fight feelings of insecurity, fear, or doubt?
- If Jesus' sacrifice fully covers your sin and you no longer live under condemnation (Romans 8:1), what old patterns of guilt or shame do you need to consciously lay at the foot of the cross?
- Are you eagerly waiting for Christ’s return as described in Hebrews 9:28, or has your heart grown distracted or complacent? What might "eager waiting" look like in your daily life?
- What would it look like for you this week to rest, rejoice, and live with a heart fully confident in the finished work of Christ, rather than trying to "prove" yourself to God?
